Brigid ~ Healing: “Your time of healing is here. Past hurts will recede. Be inspired to create- this in itself is healing. It is your birthright to create”
“When the Irish goddess Brigid stepped forth on earth, a flame appeared above her head, roaring upward, connecting her to the heavenly place from which she sprang. This burning fire, full of primal creativity and healing, has been Brigid’s gift to her followers for millennia.
Brigid was the daughter of Dagda (a father figure god in Irish mythology) and one of the poets of the Tuatha de Danann. She is known by many names, including Bride and Briant. Much loved and actively worshipped, she is the patron goddess of creativity and of healing. Artists of all kinds- writers, musicians, bards, scholars and, of course, healers – have called upon her.
The spring festival of Imbolc, which is still celebrated by pagans today, is sacred to Brigid. Herbs necessary for healing are gathered and harvested during this time and ritually blessed in her name. Many celebrations are held around her healing wells, and springs sacred to her are held around her healing wells and springs sacred to her are still well-used in Ireland.
Many writers, filmmakers, farmers and healers ask for inspiration and healing energy from Brigid. The goddess is still a very popular deity throughout the world. Through her later appropriation by the Christians, she is known as St. Brigid, a patron saint of Ireland. Her current sanctuary, situated in Kildare, contains a sacred flame.
Brigid appears in your life to heal you, often by inspiring you. Her energy is powerful and effective. She encourages the full expression of appropriate emotion and the creative spirit. It is said that no one who offers trust to Brigid is disappointed, and she always compassionately does her best to assist. Brigid’s presence will help any creative projects or emotional journeys or discussions. She is a wonderful goddess to call upon when you need to bust out of a rut and get excited about life again!”
Shadow Side: “When Brigid’s son was killed in battle, her grief grew into dark hatred. However, she overcame this hatred by expressing her grief. She wailed and cried so loudly and with such emotion that it is said that she healed herself and inspired unity in the Irish tribes. When you feel that a dark emotion, such as hatred or jealousy, is building inside you, remember that Brigid did not let it control her life; she grieved appropriately and was able to move on.”

It’s time to put some passion back into your life. What inspires you? What do you love to create?
Make time to do what it is that you love to do, and do not let anyone tell you that you do not have time to do it! Get a babysitter; book off an afternoon; get up an hour early; whatever it takes to make time for your life’s work. This is a magical time, full of creative energies, and by doing what you love, you will access a new level of manifestation into your consciousness.
When you are doing what you love to do, whether it is yoga, dance, music, meditation, art, cooking, sewing, woodwork, crafting, painting, sculpting, gardening, reading, hiking, spending time with your animals or pets… whatever it may be that you LOVE more than anything to do and makes your heart soar…. do that! And know as you do so, you raise your vibration to the very highest levels.
This is how you bring more joy into your life. It’s not by slaving away trying to make a few extra dollars; it’s not spending hours doing what you hate doing (although, yes I do realize that there are certain things that we are not getting out of just yet, like laundry, dishes and bills!). The message is that joy comes from doing what you love, and the more joy you experience, the better. So make it a priority!
Find your joy and do it, unapologetically and with every ounce of your heart and soul.
Raise your vibration and become a magnet for miracles.
Namaste
Dee
