The 11th Night – January 3

We honor Taurus, the bull horns act as spiritual receivers, grounding into Divine Speech. The Virtue to take into the New Year is Balance within the Soul, Body, and Spirit. Balancing inner life with outer work leading to forward progress. We contemplate the great love in the Cosmos, God for us, and our love and devotion to God.

The color of the candle we light tonight is Orange. We remember the month of February.

With Love we turn to the Cosmic Beings in the realm of Taurus,
Bearers of the power of the Word.
Bestowing the gift of speech, and capacity for hearing.
We receive from you the great teaching that
Inner balance of soul leads to world attunement,
Manifesting in progress on the spiritual path.

Holy Spirit, who is the fire of love streaming forth from the Fountainhead of Creation – Let us receive you. Through you, may we grow from receiving to giving, serving the fulfillment of Love on the Earth.

The 12th Night – January 4

We honor the realm of Aires, and our capacity to be upright, the image of the lamb. Virtue is devotion leading to selfless service. Lamb of God, the contemplation of the Christ being, mature enough to bring the Light of true Spirit to Earth.

We light the Red candle and remember the Divine Mother, Sophia.

With Love we turn to the Cosmic Beings in the realm of Aries,
Who instill uprightness and the power of thinking,
Pouring forth the fountain of Divine Love.
We receive from you the great teaching that
Devotion leads to the power of self-sacrifice, serving human evolution.

Christ, Spirit of Eternal Love, bearer of the evolution of the Earth and humanity – abide in us, that we, through Thee, may serve the fulfillment of Earth evolution.

Epiphany – January 5

We regard the Unity of all Life and all 12 Virtues, the hierarchy of the transcendent Father/Mother God; the ascending stage for world evolution of consciousness. Also Three Kings Day bringing spiritual gifts of wealth, royalty and devotion to God. We light a Gold Candle and remember the entire year of 2013, blessing all that we learned and all that we received.

With Love we turn to the Eternal Being Who crowns the heavens with stars,     Whose infinite Love streams through the cosmos, bearing the divine essence of creation,
Through the expanse of space, into the core of the Earth, and the depths of our inner being.

Transcendent and Immanent One, Seed and Source of the Universe – guide us that we may serve Thy will.

As we honor our lives, and our New Year of 2015, we create a new place of sanctity within us. May all beings be blessed with Peace within their Hearts. May the Earth be honored this year in a new way that brings forth respect and harmony. May we honor the Light within each other and bring more Divine Light to the Earth through our beings. The celebration of the Holy Nights, or the Twelve Nights of Christmas is observed in many cultures. It can be celebrated as an Inner Journey one takes to give birth to the sun within our being in order to illuminate the darkness. The Holy Nights begin in the season of winter in the Northern Hemisphere when the forces of Nature have withdrawn into the earth. Outwardly, there is usually snow and coldness, a stillness that is not available at other more active times of the year. This mirrors a longing for inner peace that is not easily available in a western, outwardly material culture.

Symbolically the midnight sun is the dwelling place at the heart of the Mother, the golden sphere at the center, sometimes called Shamballah. In the mystery school traditions, the rite of initiation often entailed a meditation to bring forth this vision of the golden light at the center of the earth. It is humanity’s task to bring light to the Earth at this time. Through our loving deeds, Nature is sanctified and healed so the Earth is helped in its evolution.

Archangel Gabriel is the Regent of Winter. He is God’s Harbinger of New Birth streaming the awakening spiritual forces to humanity.

During the celebration of the Holy Nights, the windows of the heavens are open so it is possible to see your potential in a new way. The veils are lifted between Heaven and Earth. The Archangels are free to create a chorus of revelation and complete knowledge is possible. The Archangels watch over the welfare of nations and communities. During the 12 Nights, the Archangels create an unbroken circle of brotherhood, and all nationalities disappear. It is a demonstration of future possibilities for true Peace on Earth. Pay special attention to your dreams during this time as they can become prophetic.

Each night is highlighted at sundown with the lighting of a special color candle. There is also a sign of the zodiac, a virtue to be intended for the New Year, and a spiritual hierarchy to be honored. If desired, the 12 previous months can be explored for the lessons learned and the accomplishments achieved. We will literally be giving birth to a new world through our love and honoring of the earth and the stars. This creates a beautiful ladder from Heaven to Earth through this observance of the Etheric Forces of Creation.

Through the work of Karen Rivers of the Sophia Foundation, and the inspiration of Rudolph Steiner, I will share the following celebration of the Twelve Nights of Christmas. (Be aware that Steiner and those who study his work use the Sidereal form of astrology, so all aspects of the astrology in these rituals follow that form.)

The ritual for the Twelve Nights uses candles in 12 different colors placed in a circle with a gold candle, honoring the golden light of the sun, in the center. If you can find them, these are the colors suggested: Deep Red, Rose, Peach, Red-Violet, Blue-Violet, Purple, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Gold.

I will be posting the ritual with the prayers that can be used each night as we continue through the celebration of the Holy Nights so we can be bringing this powerful Light to Earth together.

The first Holy Night is celebrated on Christmas Eve, December 24.
Many different traditions honor this night as a birth of an illuminated soul to illuminate the darkness. The Candle is a Deep Red color. Honoring Pisces, the human kingdom and the virtue of Magnanimity, the human potential for Divine Awakening since humans are the only animal that builds temples and libraries to hold wisdom. Remember the month of December.

Streaming magnanimity toward human evolution,
Awakening the conscious self, in freedom and love.
We receive from you the great teaching that
Love is the meaning of life on earth.

Honoring Human Beings, standing at the threshold of the future, bearing the evolution of the earth, practice magnanimity in human souls, participate in the Great Work, the fulfillment of Eternal Love.

On December 25, the candle is Rose color. Honoring Aquarius, the virtue of Discretion leading to strength of mind. Honor and send gratitude to our Guardian Angel who has been with each human soul from the moment of incarnation, in enduring unconditional love. These beings long to help us and need to be asked. Remember the month of November.

With Love we turn to the Cosmic Beings in the realm of Aquarius,
Pouring forth heavenly wisdom and harmony,
Awakening human beings to know the self as spirit.
We receive from you the great teaching that
In silence, the flowering of discretion
Becomes an ever-deepening meditative force of contemplation.

Angels, who guard, defend, protect, cherish and guide human beings, revealing the Spirit Soul, kin to the sylphs (elementals of the air), let us behold you.

On December 26, the candle is Peach color. Honoring Capricorn symbolizing human ability to seek high places in our inner life and live on meager faire. The virtue is Courage to overcome fear and break through rigidity. Hold with great love and gratitude the Archangels, beings who oversee Nations and Seasons, who nurture community by encouraging all people who resonate with spiritual traditions to create family. Remember the month of October.

With love we turn to the Cosmic Beings in the realm of Capricorn.
Enkindling courage in human hearts,
To overcome resistance of soul – to create a future of goodness.
We receive from you the great teaching that
Courage on the path of initiation
Fosters love that shall have the power to redeem.

Archangels, who teach human hearts to understand each other’s speech, bringing about community in the Love of the Holy Spirit, kin to the undines (elementals of the water), let us behold you.

December 30 – 7th Night

On this night we honor Virgo, the protector of growth, harvest, where our spiritual nourishment is digested. Throughout these nights we are digesting the year we are completing and nourishing our way forward. The Virtue is Courtesy, Reverence, an Honoring leading to tactfulness of the heart, so that all we say is communicated with Love. We recognize and offer gratitude to the spiritual beings – The Kyriotetes, the spirits of Wisdom bringing forth Divine Order and perfection, the Matrix within all things.

The color of the candle we light is Indigo saying the following prayer. We remember the month of June.

With love we turn to the Cosmic Beings in the realm of Virgo,
Illumining the meaning and dignity of courtesy,
Bestowing maturity, sobriety, and understanding.
We receive from you the great teaching that
True courtesy ennobles actions into heartfelt tactfulness.

Kyriotetes, Spirits of Wisdom, imbuing all things with meaning, you who brought humankind the sun-gift of the life body; whose dominion lies in the pure working of God’s will. Let us behold you.

December 31 – 8th Night

On this night, we honor Leo, the great lion, the realm of cosmos where Love is poured forth. Streaming forth the Virtue of Compassion as we hold the future of each person as positive and illuminated. Compassion leads to Freedom, harboring no ill will within us for another. Spiritual Beings blessing this night are the Thrones, who carry out and maintain God’s Will in love. Though sometimes appearing destructive when God’s law is not observed, their action leads to righteousness in the Universe. “On Earth as it is in Heaven.”

We light a blue candle tonight and remember May. The following prayer is offered:

With Love we turn to the Cosmic Beings in the realm of Leo,
Bestowing the life power of the Sun,
Strengthening the heart and igniting enthusiasm.
We receive from you the great teaching that
Awakening the capacity for compassion
Becomes a path to freedom.

Thrones, Spirits of Divine Will, who poured out your own fire to be the substance of Saturn, and that sacrifice became creator gods, let us behold you.

On this night, we honor Cancer, the image of the Crab, with the flexible rib cage protecting the heart and lungs, our soft inner center. The constellation with a star cluster shaped like a beehive, cooperative community honoring the female. The Virtue is Selflessness leading to inner awakening. The spiritual beings are the Cherubim – the spirits of Harmony, the music of the spheres. The inspiration behind great composers and the harmony in all of Creation.

We light a candle of green tonight and remember April. We offer the following prayers:

With Love we turn to the Comic Beings in the realm of Cancer,
Awakening sensitivity, nurturing the capacity of empathy.
We receive from you the great teaching that
Selflessness – through catharsis – awakens consciousness,
Resulting in purity of heart and soul.

Cherubim, Spirits of Harmony, who dwell in the brightness whose shadow is our air; whose breath is the harmony of the spheres, let us behold you.

On this night we honor Gemini, the twins who long for community. They represent our two arms. The Virtue is Perseverance to fulfill our Soul’s destiny leading us to True Faith. The hierarchy is Seraphim, the masters of Love streaming Love throughout the Universe. We can ask to become a vessel of Love, allow ourselves to be filled with the never-ending supply and feel gratitude.

Lighting a Yellow Candle, we remember  the month of March. The following prayers are offered:

Uniting the community of humanity in the warmth of love.
We receive from you the great teaching that
Faithful is she who, by working ceaselessly to make something of herself,
Fulfills what she owes the world and the people linked with her by destiny.

Seraphim, Spirits of Divine Love, whose love is so swift that in seeing God’s thought, it is wrought already, let us behold you.
